Catherine likes making connections - between research, people, and the ocean

Catherine is a PhD student at the University of Queensland Australia who is focusing her research on the coral reefs of Timor-Leste.  As a graduate student, she has been fortunate to travel and dive all over the world and photographically document baseline conditions of the world's coral reefs with the XL Catlin Seaview Survey.  Additionally, she is a Young Science Ambassador for the Wonder of Science Program STEM education program for Queensland primary and high school students and enjoys communicating ocean issues and conservation in wider circles.  You can also find her contributing to the 1 Million Women for Climate Change blog.

In her free time, she can be found cooking up a storm, knitting, or enjoying a mocha at her neighborhood coffee shop.
